Your Reliability Rate (RR) is a snapshot of your recent booking reliability on uPaged. It helps nurses and facilities make informed decisions using clear, shared data.
Your RR is based on a rolling window of up to your last 50 booked and worked shifts.
The most important thing to know is:
And reliability works both ways. Facilities have a Reliability Rate too, measured using the same 24-hour standard. You can see their reliability when choosing shifts, just as they can see yours when considering applicants.
Reliability in uPaged is about transparency and informed choice.
On-demand work can otherwise feel anonymous. Reliability data gives nurses and facilities a clearer picture of how each other have honoured recent bookings, helping build trust and accountability on both sides.
It also helps us advocate for nurses when facilities are cancelling shifts too.
Reliability is important to the opportunities we can offer as well. When facilities trust uPaged as a first-choice provider, they're more likely to send us shifts first and give us longer to fill them - meaning more choice and opportunity for the uPaged nurse community.
Your Reliability Rate isn't permanent. It can improve as your recent shift history improves.
You can see your current Reliability Rate any time from the menu in the uPaged app.
If you haven't booked many shifts yet, one late cancellation can have a bigger effect because your Reliability Rate is being calculated from a smaller number of shifts.
As you work more shifts, your recent history grows and your RR can improve.
Facilities can see your Reliability Rate when reviewing your application for a shift.
Likewise, you can see a facility's Reliability Rate when deciding whether you'd like to work with them.
A facility cancelling your shift does not reduce your Reliability Rate.
Facilities have their own reliability history, so their late cancellations are reflected on their side instead.
If we notice a significant or repeated pattern of late cancellations, the uPaged team may get in touch to understand what's happening and help you improve your reliability.
We ask everyone using uPaged - practitioners and facilities - to treat a confirmed shift as a commitment wherever possible.
In cases where there is a repeated, significant cancellation pattern that doesn't improve, we may ultimately need to off-board a practitioner from the platform. This is a last resort; our preference is always to understand what's happening and give people the opportunity to improve.
