Bridging programs are programs of study approved by the NMBA that enables internationally qualified nurses and midwives who do not qualify for AHPRA registration under section 53(b) of the National Law to meet the requirements under section 53(c) by completing further study and assessment against the NMBA’s standards for practice.
That's straight from AHPRA's fact sheet on bridging programs, so make sure to check it out.
To get on-demand shifts with uPaged, our hospitals require experienced AHPRA-registered nurses with at least one year, i.e. 1976 hours of Australian hospital experience. This is because with on-demand, you're expected to be able to hit the ground running without much supervision. Please check out what is needed to become a uPaged nurse.
So if you have done a bridging program, you will need this experience before getting shifts with uPaged.
If this is you - great! Feel welcome to build your professional profile and we'll get uPaged with shifts!
If you have done a bridging program but don't have enough experience yet, that's ok - as always, you are welcome to build your professional profile in the meantime just in case new opportunities arise. Hint: a more complete profile, gets a nurse first!
Keep an eye on our emails and socials so you can be the first to know if new opportunities arise :)
